Music enhances the education of our children by helping them to make connections and broadening the depth with which they think and feel. If we are to hope for a society of culturally literate people, music must be a vital part of our children's education.
Yo-Yo Ma Hello, KLO, and welcome to Music! I love the above quote, because it beautifully states both the purpose of music education and the values we strive for at KLO. Through participating in Band and Choir, we not only develop the skills necessary to read, understand and perform music, but explore what it means to be a responsible contributor in a musical ensemble. What parents need to know: These skills transfer directly to other areas of life and learning where communication, collaboration and resilience are required. What students need to know: It's fun – and a great place to meet great people! |
